Kenzie + Bradley's Wedding Day

First blog post of 2026 - and I can't think of better way to kick this year off than to continue sharing Kenzie + Bradley's love story! You can find their engagement session in the previous post - I'm super excited to share a few highlights from their wedding day.

Sometimes people ask me what my favorite part of photographing wedding days is. And I don't really have a straight answer - so I like to say I have favorite parts of each couples' day. Sometimes a ceremony really blows me a way, other times it's the precious moments of a first look...a parent dance...a speech...and so on. But sometimes it is the whole day - and Kenzie and Bradley's day certainly falls into that category. And the reason? Their presence. These two are just so damn genuine. From the first moment I met them, I felt comfortable with them (hopefully the feeling was mutual!). They are so at ease with themselves and each other, and their presence was an absolute JOY to be around. And to play on that word even further, I completely enjoyed photographing them being present. While they certainly had moments of the usual wedding day jitters and nerves, it all melted away when they saw each other at their first look. And from there, the pressure was off and the day unfolded in the BEST way possible.

Every photographer is different, and this may sound strange, but I truly feel I do my best work when the day just "is." Of course there is a timeline to follow. Of course there are portraits we want to check off a list. But the best memories and the best photos, in my mind, are made when the couple goes with the flow. These two are SO easy to photograph, I could have been greedy and dragged them around their property and snapped an insane amount of photos during their entire cocktail hour. But these two wanted to stay present. So we snapped a few photos after their ceremony and off they went! And that couldn't have been a better call. I was able to photograph tons of moments of everyone mingling and enjoying catching up with friends and family. They had food trucks and a beer car and passed hors d'oeuvres and pizza and ahh! It was time completely well spent. It isn't my job to dictate how a you should spend each moment of your wedding day, but it is my job to educate on how we can make the type of photos you want happen within the time that we have. I promise there's nothing wrong with wanting to prioritize photo ops + create some moments! But for any couples who are worried they won't have enough time with their loved ones and fear having to be "on" the entire day & don't love the idea of performing for the camera, I give you permission keep your wedding day, your wedding day. It does not need to be a 10 hour photoshoot. The day can just be. And I will photograph it.

I promise I won't be offended - in fact, I will encourage it.

Kenzie and Bradley, thank you for trusting me. Thank you for welcoming me into your home. Thank you for choosing me to photograph such a special time in your lives. Thank you for being you. <3
