Peter + Jayme
The 2018 wedding season couldn’t have ended any better. This wedding was a ton of fun and had so many unique elements to it - like leather jackets, a champagne pop, and a pre-ceremony letter exchange between the bride and groom.
I had been looking forward to Jayme + Peter’s wedding since the day I met them December of 2017. We met for a cup of coffee and as we talked, we found out we had lots in common, like loving The Office and a passion for travel and adventure. The couple has a great dynamic with each other, and although it was my first time meeting them, it felt like I was meeting up with old friends.
As springtime approached, we started talking about engagement photos. They asked if I would come down to Chicago for their session, and I jumped at the opportunity. We had so much fun - we strolled around their neighborhood and stopped wherever we felt the light was good or a backdrop was pretty. I don’t get to Chicago near as often as I’d like, so it was a treat to walk around and see what we stumbled across.
Before we knew it, it was October and we were together again at The Edgewater in Madison, WI. I met Jayme and her ladies in her suite, and we kicked their big day off! Jayme pulled everything together so seamlessly. She has great taste and an attention to detail, and beyond that, she made sure there was time in the day for the small yet important moments. Peter and Jayme exchanged pre-ceremony letters, and after she was in her dress, she did a reveal with her dad that will melt your heart. There was also an exciting surprise - the bells at Grace Episcopal Church were out of commission and hadn’t rung in years, but they were fixed just in time to chime in celebration of their union! We then headed over to The Capitol Building for the couple’s portraits, and started with the ladies in their leather jackets. I loved this touch - so unique and fun. Jayme’s vintage jacket was even hand-painted! We also had fun with some veil shots…because you can’t have a long veil and NOT play around with it.
On the way back to the reception, we stopped at The Terrace and took group shots in front of The Red Gym. We also brought a bottle of champagne along and cheers’ed the new couple! I love those images - they’re photographic evidence of how much fun we were having.
The fun never stopped - everyone had a great time during cocktails and dinner and the dance floor was packed the moment The Bluewater Kings Band started playing. I truly couldn’t have imagined a better way to end my wedding season.
I wish the new Mr. + Mrs. Letarte nothing but the best in their journey together!
The couple started out married life in the most fitting way - adventuring to Bora Bora, Borneo and Indonesia (my absolute favorite!).
