2018 Year in Review ~ April-May-June-July

2017 turned into 2018 in the blink of an eye. One more blink and 2018 is coming to a close, with 2019 just around the corner. The old saying goes “the days are long, but the years are short,” and I can’t possibly relate to those words any more. This year flew by so fast! It felt like it was just yesterday that I was preparing for all my upcoming weddings. Back in April, I kicked off the 2018 season working alongside Michelle Kujawski on Katie + Andrew’s Rustic Manor wedding. From there, the ball kept rolling and I photographed a few with Autumn Silva, while also working with so many awesome couples of my own. I love staying busy and inspired, and I stay fulfilled by collaborating with other photographers whenever I can. And special thanks to Courtney, Jessica and Amelia for shooting with me this year!

I met so many amazing couples this year, it truly is an honor to have been able to share in their day with them in such an important way. I laughed at the Best Man speeches, I teared up during emotional ceremonies, I felt tugs at my heartstrings as I watched brides hug their parents or grandparents just after they got into their dress (Grandpas ALWAYS get me!). I watched nerves turned into smiles, happy tears flow freely, and little flower girls stare in awe at the bride like she was a real life princess. I chatted with anxious grooms moments before the ceremony started and observed that anxiety melt away the moment they saw their girl. I truly love capturing the emotions of a wedding day.

When it came time to create my year-end blog post, I went back and forth a million times as to how to approach it. Draw some out of a hat? Highlight some and leave out others? Ultimately, I decided I wanted to share a few images from each and every wedding I was a part of. Every couple has had some kind of impact on me. And for that, I couldn’t be more grateful.

Because I was involved in so many weddings this year, I decided to split this post into two parts. I hope you enjoy Part 1 - weddings from April, May, June and July. The next post will highlight August, September and October weddings. It’s so fun watching the seasons and colors change through these images! It wouldn’t be Wisconsin without a bit of snow, right?! So to kick things off, I’ll start with Katie + Andrew’s snowy April wedding day, and it’ll end with Kayli + Christopher’s fun July wedding. Happy scrolling!
